We had such an incredible time on our 6 hour halibut fishing charter in Juneau, Alaska with Captains Dave & Jojo! We caught our limit of halibut and even reeled in a beautiful yelloweye rockfish. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make the trip special. When we arrived, they greeted us with warm scones and a locally made jam and after fishing, they treated us to the most delicious, smoked salmon salad.. such a thoughtful touch. They were fantastic with our three kids, making the whole afternoon fun and relaxed. The highlight for the kids (besides the fish!) was meeting Jojo’s bunny, Mr. B, who lives aboard the boat. This was easily one of the best charter boat experiences we’ve had in our 5+ trips to Southeast Alaska. Dave & Jojo even helped process our catch when all the regular fish processors were booked during the salmon derby, this was a lifesaver since we wanted to fly our fish back home to Seattle. My Family and I had a great experience on Sir Reel with Captain Dave and JoJo helping us out, we fished for all different species of fish, got a surprise up close visit and full breach from the whales in the area. We also got to see the Orca whales on our trip along with sea lions, bald eagles, porpoises, deer and many different fish species, starfish, and a few crabs. Accommodations were comfortable and pleasing. We had great weather while visiting and were able to see for miles and miles, including the snowy peaks of Canada, Glaciers, and surrounding Islands. I would recommend anyone wanting an adventure in Alaska on the water to join the Sir Reel crew and Adventure Fishing Tours out of Juneau. Day trips are available, but I really wanted my wife and two teenage boys to experience sleeping out on the water and enjoying what Alaska has to offer. Dave & JoJo really made our trip enjoyable with their knowledge of fishing and the areas we visited and islands around the passage. Check-in process and booking, fishing license were easy and painless. Dave processed our fish fillets and helped us getting them frozen and to Airport, above and beyond what most fishing tours will do for their clients.
